Last September's CFDA and Vogue Fashion's Night Out runway show at Lincoln Center was one of the season's most sought-after tickets.
A scaled-down sequel took place on Thursday evening at the Mercedes-Benz Lincoln Center tents for American Express cardmembers, who paid between $50 to $150 for tickets.
The runway show, catering specifically to consumers as opposed to press, continues the initiative pushed by Vogue and the CFDA. As in September's Fashion Night Out events, the aim is to lift the velvet rope to fashion fans, which encourages them to spend more, rather wait for sales or decamp to fast-fashion retailers.
The show featured 60 looks from nearly all of the Fashion Fund's 70 past finalists, including Rodarte, Phillip Lim, Marchesa, Proenza Schouler and Alexander Wang.
In some ways, the nearly twenty-minute show played like an All-Stars edition of Spring 2011′s most memorable looks, from Alexander Wang's taupe motorcycle vests to Derek Lam's sweeping white gown to 3.1 Phillip Lim's robin's egg blue pant suit.
Vogue's Andre Leon Talley introduced the show, gently reminding guests that all the looks featured were available for sale in stores.
