Top Chef Masters Kelly Choi reads Speakeasy by Elva Ramirez

Belvedere Vodka's party for its new Pink Grapefruit flavor took place in the Meatpacking district last night, where three hours of free vodka (including frozen shots) and pink-clad rollerskating models put people in a breezy mood.

Designer Matthew Williamson quipped, "I tried [the grapefruit vodka] last night for the first time. I had one too many, I think." Chelsea Handler, in town for a weekend gig at Radio City, held court on the red carpet with a drink in hand. "I have like four a day," she joked.

And then, it got real.

"I was just reading your blog actually!" That was the first thing Top Chef Masters host Kelly Choi said.

Get out of here!, we exclaimed. "Just before I came out I was reading what they were saying about Masters," she said. (We were instantly conflicted: pleased but also worried that our fatigue after a long night showed. Between Chef Ludo tweeting about Speakeasy and Kelly telling us she's reading, we're suddenly self-conscious.)

Choi said she watches the finished shows like the viewers do and doesn't have an inside scoop on the chefs. "It's just as surprising to me," she said of the backstage kitchen interactions. "Once I've given the chefs the challenges, I'm not allowed to hang out at all."

Despite having a job that requires eating some truly great food, Choi has managed to stay thin. "Everyone thinks it's such an ideal to be thin all the time," she said. "There are challenges to that, too." She adds that she works out regularly. "I think that's part of living a really kickass life, working out and eating well."

"But eating really good food doesn't mean gorging either."
